The Alouettes have won seven-straight games against the Eskimos, covering the spread at a 6-1 ATS clip
Montreal finds itself looking over their shoulder this against an Edmonton Eskimos team trying to make a late season push for the crossover playoff spot in the Eastern conference.
WEEK 15 CFL – ALOUETTES vs. ESKIMOS
It’s no secret that the Eskimos rely heavily on the services of QB Mike Reilly and the Esks playoff chances could very well be determined by whether or not Reilly starts Saturday in Edmonton. Reilly was diagnosed with concussion symptoms and the only surprise is how long he lasted after the beating he’s been taking this year. Reilly is expected to start this week against a stingy Montreal defence and this game could very well be decided in the trenches.
Montreal is coming off a win in Saskatchewan where the defence was responsible for three interceptions credited to the constant pressure on Riders QB Darian Durant from the smothering Montreal D Line. Montreal will try and take advantage of a weak Eskimos O-line and win the turnover battle once again. The Als have not allowed an opponent to gain more than 374 net yards in the last nine games and an average during that span of only 309 yards per game.
Edmonton has failed to score more than 25 points in either of the Als past three visits, getting outscored by an average of 12 points per game
The Green and Gold have only won only three games this year, two of which were against the lowly Bombers. A 1-6 SU home record doesn’t exactly strike fear into the hearts of teams visiting Commonwealth Stadium and we feel that Reilly and the Esks will really have their work cut out for them this week. With Montreal starting its third string QB Josh Neiswander we don’t see a lot of scoring in this game so the under is appealing but we don’t have a lot of faith in the Esks as a favorite of any margin.
Pick: Take the Als with the points
