Top trends and sports betting tips from Sunday’s late games around the league with picks from Indianapolis at Arizona and the Titans vs. Raiders matchup
It’s a light card this afternoon with just three late kickoffs but the anticipation of tonight’s marquee game between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady will help fill the void. There is also the small matter of a 101st Grey Cup to be played and let’s not dismiss the value of this game between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants.
Our Grey Cup picks for Hamilton and Saskatchewan has been posted all week in the CFL betting section and we featured the Cowboys – Giants total at Pick Sixty’s Facebook page as well as the KillerSports.com Week 12 Newsletter. Here is some info to help with your late football betting decisions on the trio of games kicking off just after 4 pm ET.
INDIANAPOLIS at ARIZONA
Best NFL Odds: Cardinals -3 (Sports Interaction) and O/U 44
The Colts rank 20th in the league with 25.9 rushing attempts per game which is low for a team who are supposedly hell bent on running the football. Arizona carries the rock even less (23.7) and when the home team rushes below 25 times per game the record since 2007 is 136-101-6 O/U (57-percent). The inter-Conference record for all NFL games in the past year is 57-23-3 to the “Over” (71-percent) but there are a couple things to consider on this game. First, Arizona rushed 29 and 30 times in its past two home games and had great success, scoring 27 points in each game. Second, Indy’s rush defense is fifth worst in the league at 126 yards allowed per game.
If you get where we’re going with this one, the “Over” could be a steep climb with Arizona controlling the ball, the clock and field position all afternoon. The Cards are winning the little battles such as turnovers and first downs, stopping opponents’ run games in their tracks and since Week 4, allowing just 220 yards per game through the air. Indy is going to be out of its element here and although the line has climbed to -3 we recommend laying the points.

ROAD RASH
In this year’s NFL Handicapping Bible we posted a feature on the tendencies of road favorites during the meat of the season and how they had covered the spread at a 60-percent clip consistently for a seven-year stretch. So far this season the record are just 15-12 SU and 13-14 ATS but the “Over” has been killing it with a 17-9-1 O/U mark since Week 7.
SDQL: AF and 7 <= week <= 12 and season >= 2013
Tennessee, Denver and San Francisco are still in play for this week and of those three we give the Titans the best chance of earning a road cover away from home. Tennessee has had extra time to recover from that second-half meltdown vs. Indianapolis on Thursday Night Football and with Oakland’s spotty pass D, this is good bounce back spot for the road chalk.
