SAN FRAN at DALLAS
Line: Niners -3.5 and O/U 50
Hilton SuperContest Picks: 49ers (162) and Cowboys (247)
The Niners won six-straight games at the end of the regular season, walked into Lambeau and beat the Packers and then rolled over Carolina in the divisional round. Were it not for the powerhouse Seahawks, perhaps the Niners could’ve finally completed the puzzle they’ve been working on since Steve Young left town! San Fran is a solid 14-3 SU and 11-4-2 ATS laying road points under Jim Harbaugh and that includes a run of 6-0-1 ATS in 2013 where they averaged just under 31 points per game! See for yourself with this simple SDQL code: team = Fortyniners and AF and season >= 2013
Dallas gave up 395 yards per game at home last year and the only two teams who failed to reach at least 23 points were the Redskins and the Rams. The other six averaged 31.7 points per game and it doesn’t look to us like the defense has gotten much better.
Pick Sixty Trend Tips: Take the 49ers Team Total OVER 27
CAROLINA at TAMPA BAY
Line: Bucs -3 and O/U 37.5
Hilton SuperContest Picks: Panthers (94) and Bucs (518)
The big question on everyone’s mind this morning was “Is Cam gonna’ start?” and so far, this line has moved five points towards the home side. Tampa is also the top pick among football handicapping super weights at the Hilton Super Contest while the Cats are the lowest. We’ll all know the final answer soon enough but in the meantime, if you drafted Newton on your fantasy football roster let’s hope you have a backup.
This game was covered in our Pick Sixty Sports Tip of the Week at the KillerSports.com Tipsheet (free every week) and although the line value is lost, we thought we’d share a solid Week 1 system that’s 91-percent in the past 10 seasons. The play is AGAINST Week 1 NFL teams who finished the previous season with a winning record who open as a dog of +2 points or more against a foe that came out of the campaign with a losing mark last year. The “better” team from last year has only won one of 12 games in this situation since 2003. The odds set the table for this game and the books know than any of us about what’s going on behind the scenes. We’re in on Tampa -2 but now that the lines moved, perhaps a teaser – Bucs to the Broncos is in order? We’ll let you decide. Our official play is on the Bucs to cover and if you want to receive the free Killer Sports Newsletter weekly, just click the link and sign up on the home page.
