Stanley Cup Finals, Game 2: Rangers at Kings

Two good goalies in this series but each team is getting plenty of quality scoring chances. Hopefully this isn’t a game late and two dollars short but according to our database, it looks as if we could see another fast paced first period!

The New York Rangers are 4-1-3 on the sports betting money line in the first period following a loss during this year’s playoffs. They’ve only allowed two goals in those eight games but since Game 3 against the Hawks, the Kings have scored 10 first period goals (6 games).

– NYR have 15 GF in 11 PO road games this year (7 GA)

– The over is 5-1 in the first period the Rangers’ past six road games

– In all PO road games this year (11 games) the Rangers have seen 22 total goals for/against

The Los Angeles Kings have allowed 11 goals in the first period off a win since the San Jose series. Their previous two playoff runs, LA finished on a big tear of unders but in 2011 they faced the ‘Nucks, Blues, Yotes and Devils. In its current form, NY just seems to have more offensive ability than any of those teams. With our NHL Stanley Cup futures play on the Kings still pending, we’ve booked two online hockey predictions for Game 2 (odds from Pinnacle Sports):

Taking the Rangers +125 in the first period

Taking the Rangers-Kings OVER 1.5 goals (+141) in the first period
