The Washington Capitals are in Colorado Sunday night facing an Avs team who are 7-2 at the Pepsi Center
It’s unfamiliar territory for the Caps playing in the Rocky Mountains but there will be one familiar face they can fire pucks at when Semyon Varlamov getting the start in net. The former Capital faced his old club earlier this season, stopping 40 of 41 shots and along with home ice he also gets the Caps in a terrible travel spot.
The Caps are playing their third game in four days and the latest was 4-3 shootout loss Saturday night in Phoenix. The part that stings is that Washington led that game 3-1 with five minutes left to play but squandered the two points vs. a Yotes team who wouldn’t let up. The loss was actually Washington’s third time going to overtime in the past eight days and throw in the fact that they are playing a mile above sea level, this is going to be a tall task keeping pace.

As a big home fave vs. teams with no rest the Avs are 29-11 including a current win streak of nine-straight since November, 2011. Only one of those nine wins needed overtime so our play for tonight is to take the home fave in regulation (60 minute betting).
