NHL Picks: Boston Bruins at Vancouver Canucks

The Boys from Beantown are hanging on the west coast tonight and getting ready to renew their acquaintances with the Vancouver Canucks. Sports betting forums are buzzing and NHL odds makers favor the Canucks by the slimmest of margins but pro hockey handicapper Greg Dempson has a couple primo systems on Saturday night’s game that you do not want to miss!

Boston started its road trip with a 5-2 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs and although the Bruins were held off the scoresheet through two periods in Calgary, they still emerged victorious thanks to late goals from David Krejci and Reilly Smith. Boston had little trouble disposing of Edmonton 4-2 on Thursday at the Rexall Place and it was so cold in Alberta they couldn’t wait to get west!

Since 1996 the Bruins have a record of 4 overs and 18 unders when coming off three or more road wins and they’ll face a Canucks team tonight who have only given up six goals in their last six games. Vancouver is 4-13-1 O/U off a win this season and since 2007 the Canucks rank as the seventh highest “Under” team when the defense gets into a groove (48-96-11 O/U).

[quote_text color=”#000000″ text_color=”#ffffff”]Vancouver has played six-straight unders this season after holding its past three opponents to two or less goals per game[/quote_text]

The Bruins have accomplished a lot on this road trip but tonight marks their first game at Rogers Arena since hoisting the Stanley Cup in June, 2011. Goals will be likely hard to come by and my play for this game is supported by a system which is 65-percent since 2008. In the first-half of the season we want to play all road teams to stay under the total when coming off a win streak of four or more games and playing a team who has a winning record. This system shows 31 overs and 58 unders and is live tonight.

Pick: Take the Bruins and Canucks UNDER 5 goals (-105) for 1.5 units
