If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Saturday’s Game of the Night features the Montreal Canadiens against Nashville, the Habs trying to build on a four-game win streak.
Break out the twanging guitars! The home of Country Music and Carrie Underwood… the Nashville Predators are coming to town! Ooooo….sounds like a doozy! More like a snoozy, I’d say. Move over Mike Fisher…Carey Price wants a piece of the pie!
NASHVILLE PREDATORS AT MONTREAL CANADIENS
Live Sportsbook NHL Odds: Habs -163, 5 OV (-120)
Having trouble scoring goals Nashville? A meeting with No. 31 of the Habs is not gonna make things any easier. The Predators have scored 14 goals which have them 26th in the league for goals per game (GPG). As for Habs goaltending, they’ve allowed 13 goals in seven games. Oh….Put down the guitar Rinne, you’re no prince! You’ve allowed 19 goals… with a .901 save percentage. Yikes! At least you’re better than the Coilers – Barely…. They’ve allowed 35!!!!
Montreal has won four straight, including three against Western Conference opponents. Most recently the Habs knocked the Crap Jackets 5-3 in front of a Molson Export-fueled, packed house at the Bell Centre on Thursday night. They’ll be looking to redeem themselves after a tight affair going into the final minutes. Maybe a smoked meat sandwich and a chat with the local Montreal Rabbi will smooth things over.
As for the Preds, they are coming off of a brain-draining, sleeper 2-1 SO loss to Los Angeles Friday night. Nashville is a pedestrian 8-8 at home with a day of rest but away from home they’ve lost 11-straight, averaging 2.0 GPG. The depth of Nashville’s forwards leaves nothing to be desired. They are about as deep as a plate with the finish of a stripper at the No. 5 Orange. Maybe Pekka can turn things around, make a few stops and the Preds can pull off an upset. It’s going to be tough for the Habs to get up for this one as I’m sure they didn’t have it circled on the calendar. Enjoy the game. Or not…
Chirper’s Pick: Preds at Habs UNDER 5goals +113 (***out of *****)
Squeaker Pick: Canucks +150 vs. the Pens
