Pick Sixty’s resident handicapper runs through Friday’s card with in-depth analysis backed by 28 years of experience betting the races.
The Kentucky Derby gets a lot of attention in the spring but the Breeders’ Cup is the Super Bowl of horse racing and our expert capper, Marshall Posner has worked his way through Friday’s lineup with a few predictions to consider.
Things get underway Friday at 5:25 pm eastern, 2:25 pm local time at Santa Anita Park on the 1-mile grass course where the Juvenile Turf purse is listed at $1 million. Posner has suggested looking for value with the top European horses who have dominated this circuit since 2008. For the top Euro horse, consider the No. 7, War Envoy and if you’re looking for hookups in a triactor, circle the No. 5 sprinter Hootenay along with the No. 4 Commemorative. For more detailed information on these horses, racing post ratings and Posner’s top triactor box, visit the EveryEdge Sports Betting Forum here.
Favorites have not done well in this race and but this year’s top contender is looking to buck the trend. The No. 1 Goldenscents is familiar with the track and along with the No. 4 Pants on Fire, has run the Beyer par of 106. One of the dark horses is the No. 8, pardon the pun. Fed Biz has taken down the post horse on a different surface and he’s got a world class trainer. For the Dirt Mile Tri consider the 1-4-8 horses.
Posner will be releasing his best bets for Saturday exclusively to Pick Sixty Sports on Friday evening. Follow MP on Twitter and be sure to check out his Breeders’ Cup picks for the Juvenile Fillies Turf and The Distaff!
