Bills and Jets, Week 9 Thursday Night Football

The Bills are looking for another big game against the Jets in Week 9 Thursday Night Football!

The Buffalo Bills taught Oakland a lesson last week, improving to 5-2 SU and 5-1-1 ATS. New York improved its ATS record for patient bettors that grabbed a six vs. Atlanta but at 3-5, the Jets are still irrelevant in this year’s playoff picture.

Odds: Bills -3 and O/U 42.5

Buffalo has rushed for 100-plus yards four times this year and they are averaging 124.6 RYPG. When QB Tyrod Taylor gets this kind of production from his ground game he is 14-4-2 ATS on turf. The Bills outscored opponents 27-19 in those 20 games.

Week 9 Thursday Night Football

The Jets’ 23rd ranked run D has kept Miami in check twice this year but in their other six games,  New York has allowed all six teams to crack triple-digits. Their average rushing yards per game allowed in those six is 157 per game. Advantage Buffalo!

Buffalo is making hay with its rushing attack and there is little reason to believe they won’t lean on it here. Buffalo carried the ball 37 times vs. the Raiders and when a team like this has to travel on a short week, there has been strong value with the “Over”. When favored, there is particular value on the total vs. the side, and that has lead us to tonight’s play.

Week 9 Thursday Night Football Pick: Bills Team Total OVER 22.5 Points

Divisional home dogs are like fool’s gold on Thursday Night Football but I’m not particularly fond of laying more than field goal on the road with any divisional game. New York has it out for the Bills after losing in Week 1 and I’m expecting this game to have its fair share of back and forth. My early SDQL power ratings lean to the Bills but rather than lay points, I went with the team total. My projections show Buffalo scoring btw 24-28 points.
